Solar water heaters is perhaps the most common solar technology that can be seen in India. In fact it is still one of the amenities that a builder provides while selling new buildings. But in this Snip( our blog ) we are going to explain why solar water heaters is failing as a product and is getting replaced by a solar PV system.
There are several reasons why a solar photovoltaic (PV) system may be a better choice than a solar water heater:
- Solar PV systems can generate electricity: Solar PV systems generate electricity by converting sunlight into electricity using solar panels. This electricity can be used to power your home or business, and any excess can be sent back to the grid for later use.
- Solar PV systems are more versatile: Solar PV systems can be used to power a wide range of devices and appliances, including lights, appliances, and electronics. Solar water heaters, on the other hand, can only be used to heat water.
- Solar PV systems have a longer lifespan: Solar PV systems have a lifespan of 25-30 years, while solar water heaters typically last around 10-15 years. This means that a solar PV system may be a more long-term investment.
